Commuters have faced more rail misery this evening after a fire led to delays and cancellations on the region’s mainline.
Greater Anglia said the line-side fire between London Liverpool Street and Stratford had disrupted services to Colchester, Manningtree, Ipswich, Stowmarket, Diss and Norwich.
The line-side fire has since been put out and all lines have reopened.
However, Greater Anglia said that while services were returning to normal, some may be cancelled, delayed or revised.
“The fire has now been put out by the fire brigade and Network Rail response team and all lines are now open,” Greater Anglia said on its website. “However due to the disruption it caused it may take longer than usual to restore train service to normal.
“Greater Anglia and Network Rail are sorry if your journey has been affected by this disruption.”
