AN East Anglian head teacher was found dead on school premises last night.
AN East Anglian head teacher was found dead on school premises last night.
Neil Sears, the head of Meadowgate School at Wisbech, was pronounced dead shortly after 5.15pm.
Police were called at that time, an ambulance crew arrived soon after and Mr Sears, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police officers are at the school this morning investigating. It is understood he was found hanging in the boiler room.
A police spokesman said that the death was not being treated as suspicious and the case is to be handed over to the coroner's office.
The school has been closed.

Sue Brewer, chair of governors at Meadowgate School, said: "Neil Sears was inspirational and caring with staff, pupils, their parents and families and anyone who had any dealings with him. He will be greatly missed. The school is closed today as a mark of respect."
Mr Sears had worked at Meadowgate School for more than 13 years.
He had been the head teacher for three years.
Meadowgate is a community mixed special day school maintained by Cambridgeshire County Council.
It offers education to children with either moderate or severe learning difficulties.
Students range in age from two to 19.
