A helpline has been set up for parents and patients of a children’s doctor from Suffolk accused of sexual offences against boys aged as young as 11.
Dr Myles Bradbury will appear at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning accused of four counts of sexual assault and four counts of engaging in, or inciting a boy to engage in, sexual activity.
Bradbury, 41, of Herringswell, a paediatric haematologist at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, is alleged to have carried out the offences between December 2011 and December 2013.
The counts relate to boys aged between 11 and 15.
He also faces two charges of making indecent images of a child and one count of voyeurism, in which it is alleged he secretly filmed somebody engaging in a sex act.
It is not known if the offences happened at the hospital. Court documents allege that all of the offences involving boys happened in Cambridge or Cambridgeshire.
Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs Addenbrooke’s Hospital, has set up a helpline to be used “if parents, patients or former patients have any concerns”.
The statement added: “We cannot comment on the allegations until the court hearing.”
The trust added it was working closely with the NSPCC.
The helpline, on 0800 389 8625, can be reached between 8am and 9pm on weekdays and 9am to 5pm at weekends.
