A THIRD person has died following an horrific crash in a Suffolk village.

Two US airmen were killed during the crash at Icklingham on May 30.

Police have now confirmed a third person, 55-year-old Gwyneth Wainwright from Denham has also died as a result of the crash.

She was a passenger in a Nissan car when the crash happened. She had been at West Suffolk Hospital since the crash.

On the night of the collision, the emergency services were called to the scene on the A1101 at about 7.20pm after a green BMW struck a blue Nissan Primera.

The male driver of the BMW, 24 year old Mark Stephany, and male passenger Daniel Addabbo who was 23, were pronounced dead at the scene.

They were both stationed at RAF Lakenheath. Two other males travelling in the BMW suffered minor injuries.

The female driver of the Nissan and the male passenger are still in hospital. A child also travelling in the Nissan was unhurt.

Police are renewing their appeal for witnesses to the collision, or anyone who may have seen either vehicle travelling along the A1101 prior to the collision. Anyone with information should contact PC Paul Smith at the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 01473 613500.
