Horse in Sweffling rescued from ditch by firefighters


Fire crews rescued a horse from a water-filled ditch today.

The appliances from Saxmundham and Leiston were called along with the water incident vehicle from Princes street at 4.10pm.

They went to the incident in Low Road, Sweffling and stabilised the horse before conducting a risk assessment with a vet and the owner.

The horse was then winched to safety by 5.50pm.
