FIREFIGHTERS in Cambridgeshire battled a massive blaze at a tyre yard with engulfed 100 tonnes of rubber.
The fire started at around 3pm today at a warehouse in Littleport, destroying two buildings at Murfitt's tyre-yard in Wisbech Road.
Nearby residents were advised to keep their windows and doors shut while ten fire crews from the Ely area tackled the blaze and a number of roads around the scene were closed.
