Ipswich/ Bury St Edmunds: Four arrested for motorbike theft

FOUR men are in police custody on suspicion of stealing a motorbike from a Suffolk car park.

The suspects - all of whom are from the Ipswich area - were arrested this evening on suspicion of theft after a member of the public reported a group of men in a van stealing a Honda motorbike from a car park in Samuel Street Walk, Bury St Edmunds, at around 8pm today.

They gave a description of the van - a white Transit panel van - which officers then spotted a short while later.

The police helicopter was called in to help locate the suspects and they were arrested in Claydon at around 9pm.

They are being questioned by detectives at Ipswich police station.
