A DRIVER has been taken to hospital after suffering a possible cardiac arrest at the wheel.
The emergency services were called to Neptune Square in Ipswich at 4.05pm today.
A police spokesman said officers were contacted by a member of the public reporting that a car had gone off the road and had struck some railings. The male motorist was believed to be unconscious and a member of the public pulled the driver from the car and began to carry out CPR on the roadside.
Surrounding roads have been closed off while the serious collision investigation team carries out investigations.
Grimwade Street and Fore Street have been closed.
