A family in shock at the death of their son and brother have said they will never come to terms with losing him.

Aaron Coote’s body was found below the Orwell bridge by coastguards last Tuesday after being seen climbing a parapet.

But more than a week later his devastated family say they have no idea why the 24-year-old killed himself.

Aaron lived with his family in Pimpernel Road and worked at the Asda store on the Whitehouse Industrial Estate.

Grieving mother Loretta said: “You couldn’t meet a more caring, loving person.

“He was always there for us and would always help us. He never had a mean bone in his body.

“We’ll never come to terms with it, we’ll just learn to live with it.”

Aaron’s dad Melvyn said although his son could be quite shy he was always good company.

“He was a great lad. He was a funny lad. He was a normal lad,” Melvyn said.

“He used to have a good laugh, he was fun to be around.”

Speaking about how the family was coping, Melvyn added: “It’s just getting a little but better now but it’s going to be harder at the funeral.

“But we’re a strong family and we’re really pulling together.

“I think everyone’s just so shocked.”

And Aaron’s brother Ian said: “He was an amazing brother, you couldn’t ask for a better one.

“He had a pure heart, he really did.”

Also in mourning for Aaron is his pet dog Queenie, still waiting for her master to come home.

Kevin Kappes, general store manager at Asda Ipswich, also paid tribute to Aaron.

He said: “We’re all very sad to hear about Aaron, he was a well-respected colleague who was loved by all and will be sorely missed by his friends and former colleagues at the store. Our hearts go out to his family.”

Aaron’s family have decided to remember him with a small memorial in their garden.

And they are determined to make his funeral next Thursday an upbeat affair.

They have asked for family flowers only but would welcome donations to the Samaritans instead.

All friends and family are welcome and there is no dress code.

As well as his mother, father and brother Ian, Aaron leaves behind a second brother, Nigel, and a sister, Vicki.

They thanked everyone who has helped them for their support and kindness.
