FIRE fighters were scrambled to a house blaze in south-east Ipswich on Saturday afternoon.
A neighbour raised the alarm around 2.30pm after hearing a smoke detector and seeing smoke coming from the letterbox of a home in Romney Road.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service said a small blaze was discovered in the kitchen.
Crews - from Ipswich East and Princes Street - put out the fire using a hose reel.
They left the scene shortly after 3pm.
