IPSWICH: Firefighters were called to the scene of a road collision outside the town centre amid fears that one of the vehicles had caught light.
Two fire crews from Ipswich’s Princes Street joined police at the scene of the crash, in Bixley Road, just after 1.45pm today.
Police said the crash blocked a short stretch of the road and involved a white Vauxhall Corsa and a black Renault Scenic.
Fie crews were dispatched after witnesses saw steam issuing from one of the cars.
Two women were hurt in the crash - one suffering arm injuries.
