FIREFIGHTERS were today called to reports of a blaze at Ipswich Hospital.
Four crews were alerted at around 12.25pm after people inside the hospital in Heath Road smelt smoke.
The firefighters from Colchester Road and Princes Street fire stations discovered it had been a false alarm after searching the building.
A spokesman for the fire brigade said the false alarm was caused by steam from contractors equipment being used in the roof area.
