A MAN is today being quizzed by police officers in connection with the alleged rape of a woman in Ipswich.
A 24-year-old man from Ipswich is in custody after being arrested yesterday on suspicion of rape.
Police officers were contacted shortly after 7am on Saturday after reports a woman, who is in her 20s and from the town, had been sexually assaulted a few hours earlier.
The alleged attack happened in the Melville Road area of the town, off Grove Lane.
Detectives are questioning the man at Ipswich police station.
