An Ipswich man has appeared in court charged with making nearly 30,000 child porn images.

Leslie Keitch, of Shenstone Drive, is facing eight charges. Seven of the allegations relate to making indecent photographs/pseudo photographs of a child.

The remaining offence is said to involve possessing to show or distribute indecent photograph or pseudo photograph of a child.

This allegation relates to 8,763 images which were said to be in Keitch’s possession.

All eight counts are said to have occurred at Keitch’s home in the Castle Hill area of Ipswich.

The alleged offences are said to have taken place on or before August 1, 2012.

The seven charges involving the making of indecent images are linked to seven separate exhibits which police and prosecutors have put forward in evidence.

One of the allegations relates to 8,763 images, another to 7,329, and a third to 7,054. The total number of images related to the seven allegations are 29,347.

Keitch, who was arrested on August 1 last year, appeared before South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court where the 50-year-old’s case was committed to Ipswich Crown Court, where he will appear on June 28. No pleas were entered during the proceedings.

Keitch was released on unconditional bail.
