POLICE were called to the Orwell Bridge tonight after a report that a man was threatening to jump.
Thames coastguard were on alert after the man was spotted walking along the A14 just after 11pm.
However the coastguards were called off when police officers spoke to talk to the man and took him to hospital.
A spokesperson for Suffolk police said: “We were called to reports of a man walking along the Orwell Bridge, but officers managed to speak to him and the incident was closed. The man was taken to hospital.”
