Ipswich: Sickness bug restricts visiting at Ipswich Hospital
RESTRICTIONS are today still in place for visitors at Ipswich Hospital after a sickness bug broke out last week.
People visiting to the trust in Heath Road are being asked to call ahead of coming into see loved ones in a bid to help halt the spread of the illness.
Siobhan Jordan, director of nursing and quality said: “The sickness and diarrhoea bug has continued to affect both inpatients and those coming into hospital.
“Visiting restrictions remain in place but are being reviewed on a daily basis.
“By limiting visiting our intention is to reduce spread within the hospital and also protect visitors.
“Where it is appropriate to have visitors I must ask that they ring in advance and maintain high standards of hand hygiene.
“In this instance it is imperative that everyone thoroughly washes their hands with soap and water.
