Firefighters were stood down this morning after an emergency call turned out to be a false alarm.
Crews from Colchester Road and Princes Street stations arrived at a property in Foxhall Road after a member of the public saw smoke issuing from the front door just before 9.40am.
But firefighters soon discovered no obvious signs of fire and that the smoke was in fact steam from a boiler flue.
