TENS of thousands of people from across the area descended on the town this weekend to celebrate what is best about Ipswich.
About 60,000 people turned out for the Maritime Ipswich festival, which included a host of historical re-enactments, stalls, rides and exhibitions.
Paul Clement, Chief Executive of Ipswich Central, said: “Ipswich really was at its best this weekend. We have an incredible town and Maritime Ipswich demonstrated this to its fullest.”
As well as the maritime festival, real ale lovers were able to indulge in a selection of drinks while a weekend market was held in the Saints area of the town.
