Three teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm following an alleged attack in Ipswich early today.
Police were called to Norwich Road just before 2.50am by the ambulance service who were treating a 17-year-old boy with injuries to his back and head.
He has been taken to hospital where his condition is described as serious but not life-threatening.
Part of Blenheim Road, which is near Chevallier Street, was closed to traffic for a period of time while police carried out inquiries.
The three suspects - two 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old - were taken to Martlesham police investigation centre for questioning.
