Ipswich Town supporters came to the rescue of one their favourite players, reuniting them with their beloved dog.

Midfielder Kevin Bru made an appeal on Twitter on Sunday, after losing his dog Gizzer, in Claydon, asking anyone who had seen his dog to contact him.

A woman in the village, Sam, found Gizzer in Hazel Rise. She then got in touch with a neighbour, Sharon, who put notices up on Facebook and www.doglost.co.uk

Fans then made the Mauritian international aware, showing him the links on Twitter. Sharon then got in touch with Bru, and Sam delivered Gizzer back safely.

Bru said: “I’d like to thank everyone who helped out in the search for my dog Gizzer, especially Sam, who brought him back.

“He was missing for six hours and it was a really worrying time. We are just glad he’s back with us safely. Thanks again to everyone who helped out.”
