A woman has been grabbed from behind and assaulted for her mobile phone in Ipswich.

The robbery happened in an alleyway leading to Upper Brook Street at about 5.45pm on Thursday (June 20).

The offender, a white man, about 5’5” tall and of muscular build, stole her phone and then ran off towards the area of the Buttermarket shopping centre.

The woman sustained a bruised lip in the incident.

The man is described as wearing a grey hooded top with a white zip, black woollen hat and light blue jeans.
