A 94-year-old woman who was stopped on her mobility scooter to give directions had her handbag containing cash and cards stolen.
The incident happened in Emlen Street, Ipswich, at around 1.30pm on October 11.
A police spokeswoman said: “A man has stopped an elderly woman, who was riding on a mobility scooter, and asked her for directions. He then reached down and took her black handbag containing a purse and an amount of cash and cards.
“He then ran off towards the junction of Handford Road and Burlington Road.”
The offender is described as a white man, around 5’10” tall, with swept-back short blonde coloured hair and was wearing black trousers and a black Bomber style jacket.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, recognises the man described or has information is asked to call Pc David Wright on 101 quoting IW/14/3545 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
