IT has been the hottest day of the year so far in Suffolk today, with temperatures soaring to 21C(70F).
Weatherman Ken Blowers said it was the warmest day for eight months, since September 11 last year, when the mercury hit 23C(74F).
He said the weather would stay warm and dry over the Bank Holiday weekend with spells of sunshine, although there would be cloudy spells.
Mr Blowers added there had only been half an inch of rain during April, which is just a third of the long-term average.
