Families enjoy watching jousting at Framlingham Castle as the event returns for a second year.
Part of the English Heritage’s Medieval Knights Season, the event ran over Saturday July 29 and Sunday July 30.
Olympic Gold medallist, Victoria Pendleton, also suited up in 45kg of armour to swap her bicycle for a horse as she tried her hand at the medieval sporting event.
Visitors were able to get a taste of medieval life in the living history encampment as well as enjoy medieval music and take part in children’s activities throughout the day.
Georgina Hallett, assistant events manager for English Heritage, said: “Our very first joust was a big hit with our visitors and we’re delighted that it returned to Framlingham Castle for the second year running.”
Last summer, English Heritage launched a campaign for jousting to be recognised as an Olympic sport. Since then, thousands of people have signed its petition.
