DETECTIVES investigating the murder of a Suffolk student are set to quiz an on-line computer game player from Germany who has been arrested in a town near Frankfurt.

The suspect was picked up by police last night in connection with the stabbing of Matthew Pyke.

Police have refused to reveal, for operational reasons, the man's age and where he was arrested.

However, the suspect is believed to be 21.

Mr Pyke was found stabbed at his flat above The Orange Tree pub in Nottingham's North Sherwood Street on Friday.

His body was discovered by girlfriend Joanna Witton.

Mr Pyke had been due to start a course at Nottingham Trent University next month.

Police have been probing Mr Pyke and Miss Witton's links to a website dedicated to fans of computer fantasy game Advance Wars.

Some reports have suggested Mr Pyke had argued with a gamer.

The 20-year-old moved to Nottingham from Stowmarket two years ago. He is a former Stowmarket High pupil.
