IPSWICH Witches asset Tobi Kroner has signed for fellow Elite League speedway club Belle Vue as cover for the injured Charlie Gjedde.
Kroner couldn’t be fitted into the Witches side when Troy Batchelor opted for Peterborough this season with Ipswich understood to have turned to Robert Miskowiak and Olly Allen instead.
Gjedde suffered a pre-season knee injury which is taking longer than expected to recover, and 24-year-old German Kroner, who rode for Ipswich from the second half of 2006 until the end of last season, has been called up by the Manchester-based club who the Witches visit in a televised fixture next Monday.
Aces’ team boss Chris Morton said: “We moved for Tobias because he has good Elite League experience. We talked to Ipswich, who were extremely helpful in allowing us to have discussions with him.”
