A MOTORIST has today been charged with death by careless driving following a collision with a motorcyclist last year.
The collision happened in Latchingdon, east Essex, when a Honda Fireblade and a Vauxhall Corsa struck each other on Burnham Road shortly after midday on Thursday. June 28, 2012.
The rider, 60-year-old Michael Marshall from Fambridge Road in Maldon, was certified dead at the scene.
An 18-year-old man from the Maldon area was arrested at the scene and has now been charged with one count of causing death by careless driving.
He has been released on police bail prior to his appearance at Chelmsford Magistrates Court on Thursday, April 4.
