Bomb disposal units were called to a farmer’s field near Leiston Abbey this afternoon to remove an unexploded shell.
The shell, which measured 3ins in diameter and 8ins in length was thought to be a Second World War mortar.
Police received reports of the discovery at 1.30pm.
