Leiston: MP goes back to classroom as part of Parliament Week

SUFFOLK Coastal MP Dr Therese Coffey dropped in to spend time with students.

The visit to Alde Valley School’s sixth form, in Leiston, was part of Parliament Week.

Dr Coffey said: “As the local MP, it is important for me to talk to young people about our democratic institutions and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

“The students asked some insightful questions and I’m sure they went away more enthused to take an active part in our political process.”

She said she had been in touch with all schools in her constituency and identified resources to help children learn about the democratic process.
