THREE teenagers have been arrested following a burglary at Leiston High School last night.

It’s believed that during the break-in a SmartWater device, which had been fitted at the school by police after several burglaries at the premises, was triggered.

The burglary happened at around 11.50pm.

Three teenagers - a 19-year-old man from Saxmundham and two 17-year-old boys from Leiston - were detained by police officers a short distance from the school and have been taken into custody at Ipswich Police Station where they are being interviewed by officers.

They will also be subject to forensic examination for SmartWater - a coded liquid which can be read under ultraviolet light.
