Emergency services were called to a crash involving a lorry and a car near Hintlesham in Suffolk today.

Police were called at around 11.30am to reports of the two-vehicle collision on the A1071 heading towards Ipswich, just past Hintlesham.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said: “The driver of the car sustained minor injuries and an ambulance was called.”

The road was partially blocked while officers and medics worked at the scene.

According to the AA this caused some heavy traffic in the area.

An ambulance service spokeswoman said “The East of England Ambulance Service Trust was called to a road traffic collision today, August 25, at 11.29am.

“An ambulance and a rapid response vehicle attended and treated a man with a minor injury to his head.

“He was taken to Ipswich Hospital for further care.

“Crews also checked over four people at the scene, but they were all uninjured.”

The vehicles were removed from the scene and the road cleared by 1.25pm.
