A man has escaped serious injury after a crash involving a lorry and a car into a parish hall in Great Baddow this morning.

Emergency services were called shortly after 8.30am to Maldon Road where a silver car and a low-loader lorry carrying a construction vehicle had been involved in a collision, with the lorry appearing to have also crashed into a wall near Great Baddow Parish Hall.

The car ended up on the pavement outside Great Baddow Barber Shop.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said that four ambulance crews, an ambulance officer and an air ambulance were called to the scene to treat a patient.

The spokesman added that a man, whose age is currently unknown, was conscious and breathing when paramedics arrived, and was transported to Broomfield Hospital by land ambulance.

The man had suffered minor injuries.
