A Suffolk Road is expected to be blocked for “several hours” after a lorry collided with a power cable this afternoon.

A Suffolk police spokesman said officers were called to Lavenham Road in Great Waldingfield, near Sudbury, at 12.40pm following reports of a collision near to the White Horse pub.

Police later said the road, the B1115, was expected to be closed for “several hours” while emergency services dealt with the accident.

Traffic diversions are in place

UK Power Network said around 40 homes had been left without power.

Engineers had been on the scene and hope to have power back on between 5.30 and 6.30pm.

No injuries have been reported at the scene.
