MARTLESHAM: Traffic chaos was caused this morning after a truck spilled its load.

Emergency services attended the scene at 6.25 just near the roundabout of the A12 at Brightwell to find a lorry had spilled its load of sugar beet across the carriageway. It's not known how the load had come off the truck which had left the scene.

One lane of the Ipswich/Felixstowe-bound side of the road had to be closed for a small section while the debris was cleared and it caused queues to rush hour traffic. The incident was cleared by 8am.

Police are appealing for witnesses to find the owner of the truck. Call police on 01473 613500.
