Firefighters in Lowestoft fought two significant blazes in quick succession today.
The first broke out at a house in Beresford Road, where crews from Lowestoft North and Lowestoft South arrived shortly after noon.
Initially it was thought someone was still inside. Firefighters searched the building but once the flames were under control it was established that everyone had been accounted for.
Two crews from Lowestoft South station were then called to a fire on the embankment close to Lowestoft rail station.
They got there just before 1pm to find about 600 square metres of grass well alight. Using three hoses, the crews had the fire under control at 13.23pm.
