Police are trying to piece together the circumstances leading to the death of a 57-year-old man found dead at Lowestoft’s wind turbine last weekend.

Officers were called just after 12.35am on Saturday, June 2, to reports of a man hanging from the steps of the wind turbine at Gas Works Road.

Attempts were made to revive the man, since identified as Brian George Honeywill, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The death is not being treated as suspicious but it is is not known what brought Mr Honeywill from his home in Wisbech to Lowestoft, or what may have led to his death.

Mr Honeywill lived in Peterborough in 2008 before going to Germany and returning to live in Wisbech in 2010. He appears to have then travelled to Lowestoft and stayed at a local guesthouse for at least one night before being found at the turbine.

Coroners officers at Lowestoft are now trying to piece together more about his recent life. Anyone with information is asked to contact coroners officer Bob Adams on 01986 835237.
