UNCERTAINTY surrounds multi-million pound plans to double the size of a Suffolk holiday park today after Pontin’s was placed into administration.

The company, which runs five parks including Pakefield on the north Suffolk coast, will continue to trade, accountancy firm KPMG confirmed. No redundancies have been made.

It comes just months after Pontin’s got the go-ahead for a multi-million pound redevelopment of the resort, part of 50m scheme across all its parks.

It is unclear what administration would mean for these proposals, which were approved by Waveney planners earlier this year.
