A MAN has been arrested following a suspected arson attack on a home in Stowmarket today.
A MAN has been arrested following a suspected arson attack on a home in Stowmarket today.
Police and firefighters were called to a house in Finborough Road after fire broke out inside the property at shortly after 10am.
The blaze in the property, believed to be a squat, was quickly put out by firefighters and a police helicopter was despatched to track the suspect.
A police spokewoman said an 18-year-old man was arrested by officers on the ground on suspicion of arson and affray.
He is currently on route Bury St Edmunds police station where he will be questioned by officers.
It is unclear whether police are seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.
A spokeswoman for the fire service said a single hose reel was used to control the flames by 10.44am.
