A ‘friendly conversation’ turned violent when a gang of teens punched and kicked a man before stealing his wallet in an alleyway.
The robbery happened in Lowestoft between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on Friday, September 22.
A man in his 40s was approached by about 10 teenage boys and girls as he walked from an off-licence shop in Hollingsworth Road.
Initially, the group engaged in friendly conversation with the man as they walked in the same direction. But, as they entered an alleyway off Montgomery Avenue, he was assaulted by the group, who punched and kicked him, demanding he hand over his belongings.
They stole a wallet containing cash before the victim was able to free himself to flee the scene with a broken tooth, bruising and scratches to his face and body.
