Anthony Whyman, 42, of Hutton Court, Eye, has been remanded in custody and will appear before magistrates in Bury St Edmunds this afternoon.
A fire in the porch of a three-storey home in Hutton Court saw several neighbours evacuated from their properties on Saturday afternoon.
A man was later treated in hospital for serious burns, but was released earlier today.
