A man is set to appear at Colchester Magistrates Court tomorrow after being charged with two counts of attempted murder and one of common assault, police have said.
Roy Hensley, 46, of no fixed address, was arrested after two women were stabbed at properties in Kerry Court, Colchester, on Monday evening, Essex Police said.
A force spokesman said a woman aged in her 50s was injured in one property while a woman aged in her 20s was injured at a neighbouring address.
The younger woman received hospital treatment for her injuries and was discharged, while the older woman remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital, the force spokesman added.
