Detectives have charged Mark Brewer, of Fairlop Road, London, with the murder of 18-year-old Dominic Barritt.

Post mortem tests revealed that Mr Barritt, who lived in Little Clacton with his grandparents Carol, 61, and Ronald, 54, died from head injuries.

He suffered the injuries in an incident outside a shop in Walton-on-the-Naze in the early hours of Saturday morning.

He was rushed to Colchester General Hospital before being transferred to Queen's Hospital in Romford, which specialises in head injuries. He lost his fight for life on Monday.
