A 32-year-old man from Colchester has been charged with five counts of stalking and one of sexual assault.

Samuel Apenteng, 32, of Bardsley Close, will appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today, Saturday June 16.

Essex police arrested a man at around 2.40am on Thursday, June 14, following reports a woman, aged in her 20s, had been sexually assaulted while waiting for a bus in North Station Road in Colchester.

The incident is said to have taken place on Wednesday, May 30.

The man was then arrested again after five women, aged between 15 and 28, came forward to report to police that they had been stalked between Wednesday, February 28 and Thursday, June 14.
