A MAN in his 40s has died today after the quad bike he was riding on smashed into a wall.

A MAN in his 40s has died today after the quad bike he was riding on smashed into a wall.

The accident involving the yellow Suzuki bike happened in Tayberry Road in the Ravenswood estate in Ipswich, at about 12.20pm today.

When a crew from the East of England Ambulance Trust arrived at the scene, the casualty was conscious and breathing.

They took the man, who is believed to be a father, to Ipswich Hospital with a serious head injury. Unfortunately he died from his injuries at hospital at 1.50pm.

A Suffolk Police spokeswoman said his family were at hospital when he died.

The ambulance crew called police and a team from the serious collision investigation unit also attended.

The road has been closed off while officers assessed the scene and gathered evidence for their investigation.
