A man has died in hospital following an incident in Newmarket in December.
Police were called to an incident in the High Street on Saturday, December 27 after reports a man had been found on the pavement with serious head injuries.
The man was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital but died this morning.
A police investigation is continuing into the incident and a post mortem is due to take place later this week.
A 33-year-old man from Newmarket, Peter Crotty, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident and appeared at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates’ Court on December 29.
