POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault that took place in Lowestoft on Sunday morning.

The ambulance service received a call just after 3.30am reporting that a man was lying unconscious in Albany Road, just off the town's High Street.
The 36-year-old local man was taken to the James Paget Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
Officers have received a report of a man being assaulted by two men in the High Street area at about 2.30am.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Quantrell, who is overseeing the investigation, said: “We are at an early stage of our investigation and need more information.
“This is an area of town which is busy at night and I would encourage anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Albany Road and High Street area to contact us.”
