A MAN was taken to hospital in the early hours of this morning after suffering head injuries when his car ploughed into a tree.The accident happened at around 1am in Holland Road, Clacton, and an ambulance was on the scene within five minutes of the 999 call.

A MAN was taken to hospital in the early hours of this morning after suffering head injuries when his car ploughed into a tree.
The accident happened at around 1am in Holland Road, Clacton-on-Sea, and an ambulance was on the scene within five minutes of the 999 call.
The 55-year-old man was initially treated on the scene by paramedics before being immobilised with a neck collar and spinal board.
He was taken to Colchester General Hospital, which had been alerted to his arrival.
