Essex Fire and Rescue Service were called to Crossfield Road in Clacton this afternoon after a man became stuck on his roof.
The man, who was in his 70s, had climbed to the roof on a ladder but had become unsteady on his feet and was unable to climb back down afterwards.
Two engines attended the scene from Clacton and Colchester respectively.
A spokesperson for the service said: “On arrival crews reported that the man, who was in his 70s, had accessed the roof with a ladder but then become unsteady on his feet and was unable to get back down.
“Firefighters used an aerial ladder platform to reach the man and safely bring him back down to the ground.”
