A man is in a serious condition after being stabbed in the chest last night.
The victim, aged 20 and from Chelmsford, was taken to the Royal London Hospital with stab wounds to his torso following the incident.
Police were called to Ravensbourne Drive shortly after 7pm following reports of altercation in the street.
Detectives have been told the incident happened at the junction with Forest Road when the victim was assaulted by three black men.
They ran off to a waiting silver car, thought to be a Vauxhall Corsa or Astra, driven by a white man.
No trace of the men or car was found despite an extensive search by officers and the police helicopter.
