A 45-year-old man is set to be interviewed by police today after it was alleged he produced a handgun on a bus in Ipswich.

A member of the public contacted Suffolk Constabulary at about 4.55pm yesterday to say that a man on a bus had made a threat to another passenger before showing the weapon.

He then got off the bus at Cambridge Drive, Ipswich.

Armed response officers were dispatched to the scene last night and the man was retained in custody overnight and is expected to be quizzed later today.
